SOPHIE TAEUBER-ARP – MATERIAL UND TECHNIK ZWISCHEN TRADITION UND INNOVATION
This project examines the production methods and materialities of artworks by the Swiss artist Sophie Taeuber-Arp. This will be the first-ever time that the complete oeuvre of a significant modernist woman artist has been the subject of comprehensive research from the perspective of art technology. Gaining knowledge about her working techniques, processes and materials can help us to clarify disputed datings and to determine the original function, authenticity and intentions of her artworks. It will also contribute to the appropriate preservation of her works.
